Peace Through Tyranny

Decibel Magazine cited, Kill Division is a nod to the old way of doing things, a group formed to blast through grindcore in the style of Terrorizer and Napalm Death, particularly in the style that late guitarist Jesse Pintado wrote. On their new album, Peace Through Tyranny, the quartet keep things simple: fast-as-**** drumming, crunchy guitars and bass, and half-intelligible growls with an anti-war sentiment. Songs like “Freak” and “Hatred Inspired” in particular reflect Pintado’s best quality as a songwriter―the moshable, slower grooves that he wrote in songs like Napalm Death’s “I Abstain” and Terrorizer’s “Dead Shall Rise.” Frank Rini (ex-Internal Bleeding), writer for Teeth of the Divine, wrote, Kill Division’s Peace Through Tyranny is so damn catchy, expertly played, and ferocious, which makes this one of the best grind albums I’ve heard in decades. Catchy grindcore is tough to pull off but each song on this album is catchier than the previous one. This is the best grind album of 2022 and if you can’t get enough of Napalm Death, Terrorizer, Misery Index, Squash Bowels, Nasum etc.. and really need something new to melt you and your pet goldfish’ face off then this is a Buy or Die of the highest order.
