Squared Away!: by Nils Ofstad

Nils Ofstad is a Norwegian cartoonist and author living outside Trondheim with his wife and two children. He works as a senior lecturer and has an academic background in motivational psychology — a subject he once intended to pursue at doctoral level, before motivation itself quietly disappeared.

His single-panel cartoon Squared Away (Norwegian title: Helt Nils) has been published continuously since 2007 and is among the most widely printed cartoons in Norway. The strip has held a permanent place in the bestselling magazine Pondus and has appeared in over thirty newspapers.

Ofstad’s work is defined by visual storytelling, absurd logic, and situations balanced somewhere between the mundane and the unhinged. The panels rarely explain themselves. Instead, they invite the reader to fill in the missing story — often with uncomfortable, ridiculous, or surprisingly dark results.
