Adventures en Mission: A missionary family in Equatorial Africa

I was part of a team of 14 teens and adults and traveled with them on that infamous ten hour ride
to Makokou. They were a hard- working and dedicated missionary couple. I experienced their preaching and teaching in villages and saw the respect people had for them.

This book is a captivating insight into the lives of “Mr. and Mrs. Adventure”. Stories vary from their encounters with various African animals to sinking boats, to rescue

from the middle of a war zone, to bringing a reportedly dead man back into the village. Being willing to literally give their lives to save people from an eternity without God. Stories of the many people whose lives they touched makes for an interesting read. Seeing God work through their gifts of evangelism, teaching and hospitality is inspiring and makes me thankful to have been touched by their lives.

Dave and Teresa Bill have compiled “glimpses into modern missions.” Found here are stories relating both the daily grind and the high adventure, their many co-laborers, and the diverse tapestry of the culture and the people. The Bills express their love for the African people and point to the glory of God. This is an excellent book to read personally, read as a family, and read as a class. We need more of God’s faithful servants to write testimonies of God’s great work.

Our diets often determine our appetites; therefore, in order to raise another generation to serve the Lord, we must offer them this type of material, rather than fiction and fantasy.
