My story is in no way unique, but it is mine. The time I’ve spent on this earth has taught me the immense value of self-awareness. It serves as a constant reminder to regularly assess, correct, reflect, and strive to make myself a better human being. Resilience has kept me strong; whenever I get knocked down, I rise, dust myself off, and move forward.
In this collection of stories, I’ve shared only the first 24 years of my life. So much more has happened since then, and I know that even more will come. The journey isn’t over; I’m doing my best to navigate it all as I look forward to life’s next chapter. If I don’t find that definitive space for myself in the end, that’s okay.
A small group of people has always been fundamental to my journey, touching my life in profound ways. These individuals—my chosen brothers and sisters—some of whom have been in my life for over 50 years—have supported me and encouraged me to trust my instincts and simply be myself. The strength of the human spirit isn't measured by the number of people we surround ourselves with; it’s about the quality of those we choose to include in our lives as we evolve.
I have always been an introvert who cherishes solitude. Even as my melancholic tendencies sometimes nudged me toward despair and the tempting thought of simply disappearing, I’ve resisted those urges, and I’m still here. I came into this world feeling like an intruder, and my quest now is to leave that feeling behind. I’ve fought hard to claim my rightful place on this planet. When I leave, the canvas I’ve created will be my legacy.
