Before We Knew You: Collection of poems on stillbirth, grief and love

This is a collection of poems written about Rachel's family struggles in the midst of a pandemic which killed hundreds of thousands of people across all countries, political upheaval, social injustices and deeply personal isolation. The writing started as a way for Rachel to try to process the grief, loss, pain and sorrow she experienced during the pregnancy and stillbirth of her son Samuel Elliott. The journey between mourning his loss and connecting with her family is the pathway through this collection. Stillbirth, miscarriage and death are all discussed, as well as love, family life, pregnancy after loss and marriage. Rachel hopes her collection of poetry will help people in similar circumstances to feel less alone, seen, and encouraged.
