Physical time travel is still a fantasy, so they search back through plains of time, by Emerging or dream walking, searching for recruits from the past and present.
One such Emergent from the future, a human female named Devina, finds Jake, in the present day. She steers and manipulates Jake to a fate he does not ask for, or wants. He fights to make his own destiny, and desires nothing more than a normal life with a normal girl. He’s no hero nor does he want to be.
Try as he might, fate pulls at him and his best friend, Chance, towards something both wondrous and dangerous.
Protagonist and antagonist's goals become murky and sometimes cross each other's lines, as it does in real life.
This is a tale of reflections, commitments, and questions of origins. Questions reaching across our Galaxy of, where are we from, what happens after life, and where are we headed? Questions of faith and fate.
