This book is suitable for teenagers and adults who are interested in increasing their knowledge of the English Language.A “cloze passage” consists of short passages, some fiction and some non-fiction. Some words are missed out with short lines to indicate how many letters are required and a few of the letters are inserted. The missing words to fill the gaps are all listed at the end but not in the order required as that would make the exercises too easy. The definition of each missing word is also there but not opposite the word it defines.Unless a student has very good English it is advisable to study the list first and sort out the definition of each word. Then, as the page is read the word which is needed can be found and written in. This is made easier because the few letters given in the passage can be matched with the word in the list. Students with more advanced skills may not need to use the list at all.
