From the Heart: Writings About Adoption
My situation is unique, with many perspectives on an often taboo subject. I'm an adoptive mom raising a son who recently met his birth family in Guatemala. In the early 1970s, my mother relinquished a baby and has been in reunion with him for over fifteen years. I was also a foster adoption mama. My best friend since second grade was one of six adopted siblings. Reading countless accounts about adoption from many viewpoints, along with my history, leaves me with a lot to share about the topic.
This anthology combines my stories and other women's experiences; some are my family and close friends. The journey has been a learning experience. Please take your time with our words. Let them sink into your heart and open discussions that may have once been secret.
