Leonard Blackston is The Ghost Marshal: The Hidden Republic
Leonard Blackston is…
The Ghost Marshal
The Hidden Republic
Texas, 1873. The war is over, but slavery has simply changed its name.
When U.S. Marshal Leonard Blackston rides west, he expects outlaws and violence. Instead, he uncovers something far more dangerous: a vast system of “lawful” arrests funneling thousands of men into forced labor camps building railroads across the frontier. Judges sign the orders. Sheriffs fill the wagons. Bankers fund the enterprise.
Behind it all stands a hidden power known only as The Reserve.
To confront it, Leonard must abandon the myth of the lone gunman. Joined by Sidney Stacker, a British-born sailor freed on Juneteenth; Ruben Bolton, a fugitive from the chain gangs; and the warriors of Red Knife’s Apache band, the Ghost Marshal begins gathering an unlikely alliance of the hunted and the forgotten.
But the system fights back.
Led by the ruthless General Thaddeus Burg, the law itself turns against Leonard, branding him an outlaw and launching a relentless manhunt.
To expose the truth, the Ghost Marshal must risk everything, because some nations hide in the open, and some battles decide whether freedom survives at all.
