Return of Wayne Douglas

2008 reissue of the final album from the Sir Douglas Quintet and Texas Tornados member, recorded just before he died in 1999 and released posthumously a year later. One of Doug Sahm's finest works, The Return of Wayne Douglas is stripped-down and soulful. Sahm fans know that he is one of the best interpreters of the songs of Bob Dylan, and his version of 'Love Minus Zero/No Limit' is a classic. James Medlin's liner notes say it best: Doug was American as baseball, as Texan as the Alamo and as Country as chicken-fried steak.
