What makes Shakespeare “Shakespeare”?

Even though this might not be “the question,” it is a question the author asked herself and found the answer to in Hamlet when the title character said, “Words, words, words.”

The focus of the four-book series, “Shakespeare’s Words, Words, Words,” is to make Shakespeare’s plays more accessible by exploring the text of his comedies, tragedies, romances, and histories. The books contain many lines from the plays and are organized into subjects we are all familiar with.

The series also contains advice on how to gain an appreciation for his plays to those who are new to Shakespeare’s works or intimidated by him simply because he is “Shakespeare.” Although he is considered one of the greatest playwrights in the English language, Shakespeare is not the enigmatic, unreachable star we had to study in school. His words can be understood and enjoyed by all.
