Some marriages don't survive infidelity. Some do — but only barely, and never the same. And then there are the ones that become something no one could have scripted.

Mary’s marriage should not have survived. The affairs. The lies. The HIV scare that shook everything to its foundation. The slow, painful work of rebuilding trust — not once, but twice. By every human measure, it was over.

But God.

The Milk Can is the true story of one woman's journey through the darkest valley of her life — and the God who never once let go of her hand. With raw honesty and hard-won wisdom, Mary shares what it looked like to stand firm when every human instinct said run. To forgive when the body itself was paying the price of someone else's choices. To pray without ceasing for a husband whose heart seemed unreachable — and to watch God reach it anyway.

From a false-positive HIV test that became the unlikely instrument of her husband's transformation, to a milk can left behind in a farmhouse kitchen by strangers who had no idea what it meant — God was in every detail. He always is.

This is a book about:

  • Faith that holds when the ground falls away
  • Forgiveness as a decision, not a feeling — and what happens in the body when we choose it
  • Prayer that changes things — not always on our timeline, but always
  • Restoration that is messier, longer, and more beautiful than anyone tells you
  • A God who is personal — who sees you, knows you, and works in the smallest details of your life

For the woman sitting in a doctor's office waiting for results. For the one lying awake at three in the morning. For the one who has been told it's over and isn't sure she believes it yet — and for anyone who has ever wondered if God is truly real and truly near.

"This memoir is an absolute page-turner and a masterclass in storytelling. This story is so immersive it pulls you in and doesn’t let go. Mary’s willingness to be completely open and honest—to share the shame and embarrassment she faced without flinching—creates a safe space for others to face the worst moments of their own lives. Incredible. Powerful. This is beautiful. Seriously.” —Kat Curry, Author and Editor
