A newly concluded peace, a reluctant princess, and a dark werewolf king.

Princess Élèntine has been chosen to marry the king of the werewolves in order to seal the newly concluded peace. Reluctantly, she finds herself at the court in Darington, where rules very different from those of humans apply. Entangled in a web of intrigue, Élèntine soon realizes that the peace between the two kingdoms and her own life are at stake. To make matters worse, the charming crown prince woos her and offers her a way out, while the serious king keeps Élèntine at a distance. But who will her heart belong to in the end?

“I can smell your fear,” he said, his voice laced with danger. The fur gave way slightly under his weight as he knelt on the bed. His powerful muscles tensed in the firelight as he crept toward me on all fours. The deadliest predator of them all. Every fiber of my body was clenched tight, though he hadn’t even touched me yet. I forced myself to keep my eyelids from fluttering shut. His gray eyes gleamed as he leaned in slowly. I stared, frozen, at the canopy above. My heart pounded so wildly that I thought it might burst from my chest. Cold sweat slicked my forehead and coated my palms, but I didn’t dare wipe them against the leather. I remained motionless.
Cayden’s hot breath brushed against my cheek. I braced myself for him to force a kiss from me. A wave of dread crashed over me. But instead, he leaned in further until his mouth hovered near my ear.
“If you think I would rape you, you’re mistaken. I would never force myself on a woman,” he whispered. His warm lips grazed my earlobe, and I shuddered.
A moment later, he was gone, striding away from the bed in long, purposeful steps. At the door, he turned back to me.
“I'm not the monster you think I am.”
