Step into the high-stakes world of the ER with Aftermath in the ER—a gripping collection of true, firsthand stories from the nurses and doctors who live it every day. From life-saving moments to heartbreaking losses, adrenaline-pumping emergencies to laugh-out-loud pranks among hospital staff, this book takes you behind the curtain of emergency medicine like never before.
If you love real-life medical drama, raw human emotions, and the humor that keeps healthcare workers going,
Aftermath in the ER is a must-read!

Aftermath was born out of a desire to preserve the raw, unfiltered stories of emergency medicine—the ones we carry with us long after the shift ends. I wrote this book as a vault, a safe place to store the memories, laughter, heartbreak, and chaos that ER nurses, doctors, and medics experience every day. These stories were gathered through countless interviews with real providers, each one offering a glimpse behind the curtain of what truly happens in the ER when lives hang in the balance and seconds matter.

As for me—I’ve lived this life. I started out as a firefighter-paramedic, running calls in the middle of the night, crawling into wrecked cars, and doing chest compressions in living rooms while families prayed nearby. Later, I transitioned into nursing and became a board-certified vascular access specialist. I’ve worked in ICUs and ERs, stood beside the bravest providers I know, and witnessed both miracles and moments that broke me.

This book isn’t about glorifying the work—we don’t do it for praise. It’s about honoring the people who keep showing up, shift after shift, to fight for strangers. It’s about telling the stories that rarely make the headlines but deserve to be heard. The moments that make us laugh out loud and the ones that bring tears when no one’s looking.

Aftermath is for every provider who has ever stood in a trauma bay and wondered if they did enough. It’s for those who walk out of the ER when the sun is rising, emotionally drained but ready to come back and do it all again. And it’s for anyone who wants to truly understand what goes on behind those double doors.

These stories matter. And I’m honored to share them.
