Dear Sibs

Dear Sibs is a small, powerful collection of voices from siblings growing up alongside brothers and sisters with disabilities.

Written by contributors ages seven to thirty-four, these short pieces offer an honest window into a role rarely discussed but deeply felt: the sibling who loves fiercely, adapts constantly, and often grows up faster than expected.

Inside these pages you’ll find:

• the small negotiations of daily life (like discovering the only pancakes a brother will eat)

• the strange gifts of growing up beside someone whose mind and body work differently

• moments of embarrassment, loyalty, exhaustion, humor, and fierce love

• the complicated truth that siblings can feel anger and devotion at the same time

Some stories are funny. Some are raw. Some are written with the blunt clarity only children possess.

Together they form what author Ila Duong calls “a small emotional atlas of sibling experience.”

Dear Sibs is also a coloring and reflection book. Readers can pause, color, and write their own thoughts in the margins—turning the book into something personal rather than something simply read and set aside.
