Ilya Yakushev Live in Concert

Russian pianist Ilya Yakushev live in recital at the Smolniy Concert Hall in St. Petersburg, Russia. Ilya Yakushev, a fresh and exciting presence in the piano world, has many awards and honors to his credit, and has performed at major venues on three continents. His three-concert series at the San Francisco Symphony’s Prokofiev Festival under Michael Tilson Thomas was named one of the “Top 10 Classical Music Events of 2007” by the San Francisco Chronicle. He has also appeared as concerto soloist with the Utah Symphony, the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra (also known as the Kirov Orchestra), the Arkansas Symphony, and the Las Vegas Philharmonic. As a concert soloist, Mr. Yakushev has performed in Lincoln Center’s Great Performers Series, the International Keyboard Institute & Festival (New York City) and PianoSummer (New Paltz, NY), and at such prestigious venues as Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall and Alice Tully Hall (New York City), Musikverein (Vienna), Glinka Philharmonic Hall (St. Petersburg), Victoria Hall (Singapore), Davies Symphony Hall (San Francisco), and Sejong Performing Arts Center (Seoul, Korea). Among his many awards are the Gawon International Music Society's Award (Seoul, Korea), and first prizes at the World Piano Competition (Cincinnati, Ohio), and the Donostia Hiria International Piano Competition (San Sebastian, Spain).
