It's Hard to Walk Good With Your Pants on Backwards
It's Hard to Walk Good with Your Pants on Backward is a comedic memoir of one chaotic year in Room 3A of a North Dakota Catholic school. Todd was eight years old. The youngest, smallest kid in his class. He operated on the premise that if you speak first, laugh first, or create just enough disturbance at the right moment, nobody looks too closely at what you don’t understand.
What followed was a year of near-misses and minor victories: fake sick days spent watching The Price Is Right, selling magazine subscriptions door-to-door earning him "Squat," lime Jell-O smuggled into Mass, spitball warfare during a lesson on eternal salvation, Candle wax and deeply disappointed Monsignor, a stealthy way to buy a girl a bracelet for Christmas, and at least one kickball launched with catastrophic, deeply personal precision.
Sometimes the best way to survive third grade is to laugh first. And sometimes, if you’re lucky, you learn you don’t have to.
